Alberta has detected what could be the first case of the South African variant of COVID-19 in the country.

The head of the largest hospital in southwestern Ontario travelled outside of Canada in December at a time when staff were working to contain outbreaks at two London hospitals and case counts were climbing across the region.
Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski, ranked 10th in the world in doubles, serves on the WTA Players’ Council and has worked to promote and strengthen the doubles game. The 28-year-old Ottawa native was hoping to implement some doubles initiatives last season but the COVID-19 pandemic postponed those plans.
